Anthony Quartuccio

Maestro Anthony Quartuccio is Associate Conductor of the San José Chamber Orchestra. He is also music director of the Nova Vista Symphony, Gilroy’s South Valley Symphony, and the San José Senior Youth Chamber Orchestra. He appears regularly at Opera San José where he has conducted for over ten seasons. Previously, from 1996 to 2002 he served as founding music director of the Bay Shore Lyric Opera in Capitola. Appearances with Opera San José include leading performances of The Pearl Fishers, Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi. Maestro Quartuccio has also conducted concerts with the Santa Cruz Symphony and, other recent appearances include the opening night concert of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra in Manila in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the nation’s cultural center. In 2009 and 2013 he conducted highly successful tours with the San José Senior Youth Chamber Orchestra in New York with performances that included Ellis Island and the United Nations world headquarters. Also in that year Anthony Quartuccio and the San José Youth Chamber Orchestra performed for the mayor of San José as well as a private concert for His Holiness the Dalai Lama of Tibet in San Francisco. In the eight years of his work with the San José Chamber Orchestra, he has conducted multiple subscription concerts that included several world premieres. Most recently, he has conducted Don Giovanni at Opera San José and led the 40th anniversary season of the South Valley Symphony.
